About Lisette

I am a self taught photographer, visual storyteller, trained Interior designer, outdoor enthusiast, world traveler, wife and mother.

It wasn't until our first son, Asher, unexpectedly passed away in October of 2012 I decided to make a career change. After loosing him, I could not resume my former life because I had changed too much as a person. Life as I knew it would never be the same.

In order to help with the grieving process I threw myself into writing, blogging and photograpy. I felt hurt, confused, lost and vulnerable. I had learned important life lessons in a compressed period of time and I wanted to share my experiences with others. Most importantly, I had learned being vulnerable was not a sign of weakness. I grappled with feelings of inadequacy as I tried to embrace my new identity of being a parent without having my child present to raise.

As I thrust my energy into nurturing my God given talents I once again found my voice and place in the world. Through my faith, meaningful friendships and this blog I was able to find glimmers of happiness and create a new life for myself.

Two years later, we welcomed our second son, Jasper, into the world. Five years later we added Daphne. Being Asher, Jasper and Daphne’s mother has proven to be one of the greatest honors of my life. Because of Asher, I wake up every day feeling like the luckiest person on the planet because I get a front row seat in helping to nurture my children into the adults they will one day become.

Although my life is not perfect, I strive each day to create a life of wonder, joy, excitement and fun.  It took me several years to realize I like to tell stories through photographs. Visual storytelling has allowed me to show a depth and breadth to my experiences which words alone would be unable to do. This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.
