Located at the base of Mount Washington in Bretton Woods there is a hotel which is touted as the most spectacular thing to see in the White Mountains, that being said we had to go and check it out. Built in 1902, it is one of the only few grand hotels remaining. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has spectacular views every way you look. With a 900 foot veranda, ample outdoor seating and sunshine it was the perfect place to spend an afternoon. The last night we were in New Hampshire, we went back for a memorable meal in the most lavish dining room in the state. Dinner jackets were required for men and we were accompanied by a three piece orchestra while we ate.
