Chuckanut Drive and Bow, Washington
After enjoying a sunny morning picking apples at Bellewood Acre Farms we decided to take the long way home and drive along Chuckanut Drive. The sun was shining, the car windows were down and we were enjoying one our last warms days before autumn and its cooler temperatures settled in. We enjoyed a quick stop at Taylor Shellfish Farm and then once we realized how close we were to Bow, WA we knew we just had to stop. Bow, WA is home to one of our favorite bakeries called Breadfarm in addition to several adorable shops like Hedgerow.
Upon arriving in Bow, the delicious scents from Breadfarm quickly pulled us in. Their breads and shortbread cookies are among the best you will find. After deliberating on what to buy we purchased some treats to hold us over until dinner and then enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the shops. Hedgerow, is a perfectly curated shop filled with unique gifts and a place where I would like to buy everything. I appreciated being able to find an array of unique and locally made items at all different price points. In one stop I was able to find the perfect birthday present for one friend and a thoughtful thank you gift for another. I was delighted to pick up a bottle of Black Licorice soap by Blackbird and a jar of San Juan Island Sea Salt.
Typically I like to set out for the day with a plan, but sometimes all the pieces fall just right and you end up having a stellar day filled with unpredictable fun.
