Day trip to Union, WA
There are so many great day trips to take from Seattle. Some of our favorite destinations include locations like Coupeville, Friday Harbor and Orcas Island. All of these locations require ferry rides, which make getting there half the fun. There is something extra adventurous about going on a day trip which requires multiple forms of transportation. This Winter, we have made a conscious decision to break out of our routine of going snowshoeing every weekend and instead enjoy taking several day trips from Seattle. Usually, we usually save these adventures for better weather in the Spring or Summer time, but there is something inspiring about visiting a place during a different time of year.
A great day trip from Seattle we recently took is visiting the small town of Union, WA. There is a wonderful resort there called Alderbrook which we visited for the first time last year. On this particular day the weather was downright nasty, so the day included taking in the breathtaking views from the ferry, our car and then over lunch at Alderbrook. After lunch, we made a quick jaunt to Hoodsport Coffee for some sorbet and then made our way back home. There is nothing more inspiring to me than to enjoying beautiful scenery all day. I feel very fortunate we live in place which has an abundance of beautiful places to visit.
Last month, we enjoyed day trips to Coupeville, Deception Pass and Bow-Edison. In addition, we were able to go on a couple weekend adventures to Leavenworth and Long Beach, WA. I am living proof that no matter how long you live in a place, there are always new places to visit and endless experiences to be had.
