A little bit about Lisette.....

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.

This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

My favorite baby shower gift ideas

My favorite baby shower gift ideas

I can't tell you how many baby showers I have attended where all the mother received was clothing. As nice as I imagine it is to have drawers full of clothing, there is an endless list of other fun and useful items an expectant mother may want or need for their baby. With this in mind, I put together a little assortment of some of my favorite gifts to give expectant mothers for their new babies.

1. Shoes. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen a baby all dressed up in an adorable outfit with bare feet. I know socks and shoes don't always stay on, but I like to give cute shoes like these little moccasins so baby's feet don't have to be bare.

2. WA state natural wood teething ring from Little Saplings. A great memento of where the child was born. They also come in other fun shapes like four leaf clovers and guitars.

3. Knit taxi cab rattle by Estella. The perfect gift for any hip baby.

4. Brightly colored footed sleepers from Old Navy. Although this is technically clothes, I have never heard a mother complain she had too many sleepers or spare outfits in the diaper bag.

5. Non BPA disposable spoons by Munchkin. Sturdy enough to use again and again, but cheap enough that if they get lost or accidentally tossed it is not a big deal.

6. Wooden camera from Twig Creative. I'd rather have my toddler play with this and use their imagine then be interested in my iPhone or watching television.

7. Eric Carle's Hungry Caterpillar Finger Puppet Book. A fun, interactive format on a classic children's tale.

8. Lifefactory BPA- free Glass Baby Bottles with silicon sleeve. These bottles are environmentally friendly, and since they are glass may be used for years. There are a variety of different lids you may purchase which allow you to convert the bottles to sippy cups .

9. Gingham trimmed wash cloth, set of 3 from Pottery Barn Kids. Soft, stylish and practical, you can also purchase a matching hooded towel and have it monogrammed.

10. Wooden toy car handmade at Pike Place Market. Local, handmade and adorable, a winning combination in my book.

11. Colorful links by Bright Start may be used to entertain or attach a variety of items to strollers and cars seats.
