Weekend at Adrift Hotel
Growing up my family and I spent a majority of our Saturdays criss crossing the state by going on a variety of road trips. Now with my own family I have continued the tradition of exploration, but have taken it a step further with weekend or even long weekend getaways. Early in our marriage we took lots of long road trips, but now we have a little one in tow we have figured out we would rather have the majority of the day to explore rather than being stuck in a car. We have become very proficient at weekend trips and the long weekend is one of our very favorites. One night always feels way too short, two nights is nice and three nights is perfection! By taking off early on a Friday or tacking on a Monday it always gives you a little more wiggle room in your itinerary and a lot more time to have fun!
Last weekend we stayed in Long Beach, WA at Adrift Hotel. We have been there a handful of times and have enjoyed ourselves every time. The best part of Adrift Hotel is you can come park your car and then never have a need to move it while you are visiting. Between the beach, the Discovery Trail, the restaurant upstairs and the cute little beach town of Long Beach there is plenty to see, do and eat.
Our favorite part of Adrift Hotel aside from its location are the beach cruisers they allow their guests to use during their stay. We love the Discovery Trail so much we could easily spend the entire weekend riding up and down this beautiful trail.
The Discovery Trail winds along the beach providing sweeping views and a smooth ride.
There are two buildings at Adrift Hotel, the East and the West Building. We prefer to stay in the West Building because it has the main lobby, the rooms with the ocean views and is where the restaurant it. Should the weather be lousy during your stay having every thing in one building is a nice perk.
The Adrift Hotel is just steps from the beach which makes it easy to explore the beach in the morning, head back to the hotel for lunch and an afternoon nap and then head back to the beach in the evening for a bonfire or to fly kites.
One of the reasons we love Long Beach is because it is not as touristy as Seaside, Cannon Beach or Ocean Shores. In all the times we have visited we have never dealt with crowds or have had to wait long at restaurants.
When you travel with kids it is nice to have easy access to food. Having a restaurant on the same floor as your room is just about as good as it gets. We enjoy eating most of our meals at the Pickled Fish, love the view and appreciate the wide array of options they serve.
Jasper keeping us entertained with lots of hand movements and some amazing story!
We stayed in a West King room, but they also have rooms with bunkbeds, dog friendly rooms and suites.
Collections from a walk.
A dinner with a view!
