Camping on the Washington coast
Over Memorial Day weekend we took advantage of the glorious weather and went camping on the Washington coast. Jasper had it in his mind he needed to bring his large blanket along with him, so we decided it was fine as long as he carried it. I am happy to report he carried all his own clothes, blanket, snacks and stuffed animal the two miles it took to reach our campsite. I am so proud of what a trooper he is and it is exciting to see his strength and stamina increase with each family adventure. Being twenty five weeks pregnant I appreciate the slower pace he brings to activities these days.
My cute little hiker walking along the beach.
Forget campgrounds. Here we are camping with the most beautiful back drop. Sure we don’t have all the modern conveniences of home, but then again isn’t that the point of camping after all?!
Starting the day off with a cup of cocoa.
Looking for starfish and crabs.
The best part of this pregnancy has been to witness Jasper’s love for our baby. He is at the perfect height to give her kisses and talk to her all day long.
My proudest moments as a parent usually revolve around Jasper embracing the outdoors. I love what a little explorer he has become.
Showing off our bellies. One is getting smaller and one is getting bigger by the day.
I love all the textures at the beach.
When sticks become ferry boats. I love how little it takes to make this child of mine happy.
Forever grateful for the stranger who took this photo of us. I will cherish it always.
And if this magical sunset is not enough to convince you to pack your bags and hike along the beach then I know nothing will.
