A little bit about Lisette.....

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.

This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

Last Saturday, the wind was blowing and the rain was coming down sideways as we drove up north to Bow-Edison. Typically, good weather inspires day trips, but this trip was a good reminder why day trips are fun and good for the soul particularly when the weather outside is bad.

If you are anything like us you enjoy doing different activities with different friends. Lynn and Steve are our friends always up for adventure, particularly when it involves food. Although we never intentionally set out to eat our way through North and South Carolina and Georgia, we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of doing so.

Cameron and I had never been to Edison, so when our friends recommended making a day of it, we were excited to explore a new town. Edison, WA has a population of 133 and was settled in 1869. Edison, WA was named after the inventor, Thomas Edison. To add to the charm of Edison, as soon as we arrived big fluffy snowflakes started to fall from the sky. Although the transition from rain to snow is always a magical moment, on this dreary day it was pure delight!

Once we arrived our first order of business was food. We quickly decided on Tweets and sought refuge within its warmth. We blindly ordered off the menu and found a spot by the windows. Once our food came were we astounded not only by the creativity, but by what such a small kitchen was able to produce. Our friend, Lynn, ordered the most beautiful, colorful and delicious polenta dish.

Throughout our entire meal I could not stop admiring these gorgeous red roses. I loved the ingenuity of placing them in an old rusty pail juxtaposed with the pussy willow branches.

On such a cold, wet day it was promising to see signs of Spring paving the streets of Edison. Spring always carries with it such wonderful energy. As flowers force their way up through the soil it is a time of rebirth, endless possibilities and the promise of warmer weather ahead. If you are in the mood for a lovely little day trip from Seattle might I suggest planning your own trip up to Bow-Edison and eating at Tweets.
