Seattle Bloggers Unite: Letterpress Night with Farewell Paperie

On a warm Summer evening, a group of us Seattle bloggers descended on Farewell Paperie's studio to learn the art of letterpress and to try our hand at making our own set of stationery. I have long since been a fan of letterpress and I love Farewell Paperie's inventive take on finding just the perfect thing to say in a card. 

Throughout the evening, each of us was able to take turns creating our own letterpress notecards. With assistance from Jen we were able to make our cards, by using an one hundred year old letterpress machine. Many of the students came up with clever things to say on their cards, but I decided to keep mine timeless with my name. When you have a name as unique as mine it is downright thrilling to have something with your name on it. 

While spending time at Farewell Paperie's studio one thing I did not realize is aside from cards they also make wrapping paper and festive napkins. One particular wrapping paper which caught my eye read, "sorry it's not cash". I can think of so many people this would be fun to wrap their gifts in. 

After we made our letterpress cards we were shown by Lisa how to make envelope liners for our new cards. In addition to letterpress, we had plenty of time to catch up with other local bloggers and eat delicious bites created by Lyndsey Wells of The Stationery Place.

Having the opportunity to hang out in someone else's creative space always inspires me in my own creative endeavors.
