University of Washington Cherry Blossoms
Each Spring we try to pay a visit to the University of Washington to view the gorgeous cherry blossoms. It is amazing to think these very trees have been here for generation after generation. Jasper and I made a quick visit to view the cherry blossoms on one of the few days it did not rain over the past several months. Jasper displayed his independence with his refusal to stand still for any photos. And for a portion of our time there he was more interested in the bug on the ground than the blossoms on the tree. I love how he doesn't care what other people think as he pretends to be an airplane while repeatedly crashing in the muddy grass.
Lately he has been asking me to read this book by Emma Dodd entitled "Together" The book is about a mother otter and a baby otter doing simple things like swimming, watching the sunset etc. At the end of the book, I always get a lump in my throat because I know these precious days spent hanging out together will not last forever. I know these small moments will be some of the best days of my life.
